Caroline formed in 2001 when they changed their name from "Fareway". JR and Vince have been playing music together since 1997. Vince's younger brother Mike joined in on guitar, and Fareway was born. About a year later JR and the band wanted to change their sound and their name. They decided to name the band after a mutual friend and fellow rocker Caroline LeRoux. Since LeRoux was already taken, Caroline was chosen as their name. Caroline spent the next 2 years writing, recording and gaining fans throughout Georgia and Florida. Each of the Caroline records were either lost or not finished, this persistence of bad luck in the studio became known as "the curse". In the summer of 2003 Caroline recorded their 3rd full-length record, tentatively titled "breaking the curse". They spoke too soon, as almost half of the record was lost during a remote mixing session. The remaining 8 songs were finished, mixed and are now ready for press. "Breaking the Curse" is expected to be released this spring of 2004.
